“We apply for jobs, and the HR never gets back.” I’ve heard this more times than I can count. It’s usually said half-jokingly, sometimes sarcastically, but always with frustration. But let’s pause and flip the script for a moment. As someone working in recruitment, I’ve seen the other side. Whenever I post a job opening, the applications pour in. Many profiles look promising, and we start shortlisting. But when we reach out to candidates? Calls go unanswered. LinkedIn messages are left on read. Emails remain unopened. It’s understandable; the flood of spam and promotional calls makes people cautious. But if you’ve applied for a role, staying reachable is crucial.
